Guys, this is a BAD line. Rice has given Hawaii fits everytime they have played them. Hawaii finally won STRAIGHT UP last year for THE VERY FIRST TIME in a non-covering win (after three straight losses) only because of speedy Pisa Tinoisamoa, the Rams now starting middle lb. UH's linebackers this year are pathetically slow. They will have no chance of stopping Rice's option attack. UH's strength on defense, the DL, will be neutralized by the option as there is no way the big pass rushers can move laterally fast enough to string out the option. Stopping the option depends on speed in the lb's and secondary and UH just doesn't have it this year. UH has an overrated LB coach, local high school coach Cal Lee, who was only hired for political reasons (he is enormously popular with local Hawaii high school players, esp. his former school, powerhouse St. Louis h.s.).

Also, UH's offense is in a psychological funk after their turnover fest at USC and UNLV. The propensity to turn the ball over in retrospect looks like the byproduct of poor discipline and POOR COACHING (meaning the overrated and overpaid June Jones is treating the players like pros instead of kids...big mistake).

I know Rice looked awful against Texas on national tv but that gives us line value here. I seriously think UH may lose outright and was stunned to see this come out at UH -22. Get it while you can.

Well, I was one of the unlucky people to be stuck at home watching that Rice team....PEEEYEEWW! I also watched the equally miserable game that Hawaii played in Vegas. I don't see how Rice will be able to score more than 17 points on anyone, so that leaves me with the question of "can Hawaii score over 40"? There is no question that June Jones will hang 50 any chance he gets, but can they.....my answer would be YEP!

Disclaimer:

This is an ugly game between two hapless teams that isn't even worth watching. So, why bet good money on bad teams?

Yes, Hawaii will score at will, but their scoring will likely be held back by the three or so interceptions Chang will throw and the three or so fumbles the wr's and rb's will make.

Rice will also score at will, I am expecting with a little more discipline then Hawaii's offense (meaning less turnovers).
